Madame Phoole's PANHARMONIUM is my Vintage Dance Music roadshow.
I am doing this event because I love this event, and because I can do it reasonably safely, from an airborne-contagion-cautious perspective. I can mask in an N95-or-better respirator for the entire event. The Show Dome is very well ventilated, with excellent air circulation, and the plateau from which I DJ in the Show Dome is removed from the punters' path, adding another layer of safety.
If you can attend, I hope you will!
And if you attend, my further hope is that you will consider masking in a well-fitted respirator mask for the event as well. KF94, KN95, N95 and P100 respirator masks that fit you well will help keep you, me, and the whole community safer. Fit-tested respirators of these types are even better, but if you cannot fit-test, a respirator that feels like it has a good seal against the skin of your face helps.
I know fanciful facial hair is a big part of the Steampunk aesthetic - if you can precision-shave the seal-path of the respirator that fits your face best, that seems like it has potential to be safer AND style-setting.
Surgical masks (the baggy, pleated kind), fabric masks, and theatrical masks (like plague-doctor masks, for example) offer insufficient protection.
I want to hug you, if you are down to hug. But I want to hug you as safely as we can hug.
I am fitting out a few KF94 respirator masks with SIPmask airtight drinking valves for myself, so that I can stay hydrated through the day. Some gears, a little glue, a little burnished-brass Testors model paint, and the valve becomes a fashion statement. Nice!
This event will not be livestreamed. If you cannot make it to the Domes, or if you'd like a Panharmonium preview, please enjoy a little musical time-travel via the Panharmonium parties in the Phoole & the Gang archives!
